Sherrardswood School, founded in 1928, is a highly regarded and successful independent co-educational day school with approximately 320 pupils aged 2 to 18. At Sherrardswood, we are currently recruiting for the following positions:

 

1 x Nursery Practitioner

1 x After school care supervisor (Nursery)

These jobs could be combined to become one role (long day) or split shift.

Nursery Practitioner, Hertfordshire

Contract type:           Part-Time, 8am till 1pm

Location:                    Welwyn, Hertfordshire

Due to the growth of our Pre School and the increase in applications from 2 year olds, we are currently seeking to recruit a new member of the Nursery team.

Our Pre School is in a newly developed area within the 18th Century Manor House, Lockleys.  Working with a team of enthusiastic and experienced professionals, the successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring the safety, education and enjoyment of our youngest students.

The role involves acting as a keyworker to a small group of children, liaising closely with parents/carers and ensuring each child’s needs are recognised and met whilst assisting in teaching the children, offering an appropriate level of support and stimulation.

It is also essential to work hard to promote a positive, creative and happy environment where children thrive.

After School Care Supervisor, Hertfordshire

Due to the growth of our Pre School and the increase in applications from 2 year olds, we are currently seeking to recruit a new member of the Nursery team to supervise after school care.

Afterschool care is provided to support our working parents and it is important that the children's environment is fun and happy.  Working alongside a member of our teaching team, you would be predominantly responsible for looking after nursery aged children staying for after school care, and would be expected to work alongside the teacher to support all the children in the club.

Science Technician, Hertfordshire

Contract type:           Part-Time, 8am till 2pm daily, term time only

Location:                    Welwyn, Hertfordshire

 

Due to the retirement of our current Science Technician, we are currently seeking to recruit a new member of the Science team, to take on responsibility for managing and preparing all the resources required to run an effective and efficient Science department. 

Demonstrating accuracy and a methodical approach to working, with an excellent knowledge of the Health and Safety requirements inherent in working with the chemicals and other resources used in a busy Science department, the successful applicant is likely to have held a similar role in a school, college or in industry.

The practical aspect of Science is a hugely important part of our teaching here at Sherrardswood and our Science technician will need to be an ‘unflappable’ team member.  The role includes many aspects including, stock management, ordering, maintenance of equipment, ordering to a budget, liasing with the teachers to ensure that they have the resources that the need, on time and safely delivered and also managing the Health and Safety requirements of the Prep room. 

The Science department is a large and happy team that look forward to welcoming a new member on board.
