Breakfast Club & After School Care

Breakfast Club

The Sherrardswood Breakfast Club is situated in the Dining Room and is available to all students from Reception and above. It is open every day from 7.30a.m. until 8.30a.m. and supervised by a member  of staff.  There is a selection of food from cereal and milk to sausage baguettes.  The cost is £4.00 for 7.30am-8.30am and £2.75 for 7.55is-8.30am.  There is no need to book and the cost will be added to your termly invoice.

After-School Care

Nursery

The Nursery Afternoon Club is available straight after the end of the Nursery day at 3.30 p.m. and runs through until 5.30 p.m.  Children staying after school are cared for by a dedicated member of staff, where they join the Infants in After-School Care in Lockleys.

Regular use of the Nursery Club can be booked in advance.  Booking forms will be sent out along with a Nursery booking letter half a term in advance.  Nursery days and Nursery Clubs are paid in advance and an invoice will be sent out in advance of the next term.
Unfortunately there will be no refunds due to absence.

Infrequent use of the Nursery Clubs will be dependent on ratios and the number of children attending.  Infrequent use must be booked at least one week in advance with the relevant booking form available from the Nursery.  Unfortunately we will not be able to accept children into the Nursery Clubs without prior booking and we cannot offer a drop in service as we do with pupils in Reception upwards.

Reception-Year 2

After-school Care is available from 3.20 p.m. until 5.30 p.m. and does not need to be booked in advance.  Children will be taken to the Dining Room at approximately 4.15 p.m. for a drink and snack.  Pupils not collected by 4.30 p.m. will join the Key Stage Two children for the remainder of the session. Clubs for Reception children start in the Spring Term.

Years 3-6

Pupils wishing to remain in school may attend the first hour of after-school care which is offered as a supervised homework session until 4.30p.m.  Children are able to have a drink and snack in the Dining Room at approximately 4.15pm.   Any pupils still in school after 4.30pm will be taken, by a member of staff, to the classroom allocated for that day.

The location of after-school care is posted daily in the entrance hall of Lockleys and children can be collected directly from the classroom anytime before 5.30 p.m.

For safety reasons, children who wait for older siblings to finish school at Mimram House will be taken into After-School Care, free of charge, until 3.50p.m when they must be collected.

Years 7-11

An invigilated homework session is offered Monday—Thursday from 4.00 p.m. until 5.00 p.m. and this is booked on a term by term basis.  We do ask parents and pupils to commit to the sessions booked and there is no charge for this service.

After-School Care duty staff have a mobile phone which can be used to let us know if you are going to be delayed. This will prevent your child from becoming anxious. The phone number is 07985 208626.

Extra Curricular Clubs

We run a range of different activity programmes each term.  Clubs run by our own staff are generally free of charge, however, for activities such as  Gymnastics, Street Dance, Football etc which are run by external organisations, a cost will be incurred.

Many of the clubs are very popular and we would encourage early booking.  We do operate a waiting list system for over-subscribed activities and children on the list will be first to be placed if the club is run the following term.

Reception—Year 2

Our younger pupils are able to take part in a selection of lunchtime and after school activities including; Street Dance, BAGA Gymnastics, Drama club and Artskool.  Children are taken to the club by a member of staff and will be brought to the entrance of Lockleys for collection at 4.30 p.m.

Years 3-6

Junior pupils enjoy a varied programme including; Cheerleading, Football, Tennis, Multi-Sports Rising Stars, ICT, Choir, Cricket, Athletics and Design and Technology.  As with the infants, children attending clubs will be brought to the entrance of Lockleys at 4.45 p.m. or 5.00 p.m. when their club has finished.

Should you be unable to collect your child at the end of the club, they will be able to join after-school care and this charge will be added to your termly invoice.

Years 7-11

For our Senior pupils, lunchtime and after school activities are run each term in addition to “Curriculum drop-ins” for specific subjects.  Clubs include: ICT—Computer Games Design, Music Theory, Basketball, Book Club, Trampolining, Choir, Tennis and Sherrardswood Aeronautical and Space Agency (SASA).

The Mimram Office is open until 5.00 p.m. Monday to Wednesday and 4.30 p.m. Thursday and Friday should you need to make contact whilst your child is attending a club or the supervised homework session.
