Key Stage Two

We are a happy school with a caring staff. Our team places great importance on knowing your child as an individual and getting to understand the way in which they learn. We like to communicate regularly with parents, as well as holding formal interviews and producing written reports twice a year.
Our junior pupils follow a broad spectrum of subjects as part of their weekly timetable. Pupils focus on the core subjects of Numeracy and Literacy (where they are streamed for both) and Science whilst having plenty of scope for the study of Geography, History, Art, Drama, French, Music, ICT, Technology, Religious Education, Personal Education and Physical Education.
We have the added bonus of spacious grounds and Senior Department facilities which enhance many lessons. Specialist teachers from the Senior Department may take your child for some Science, Food Technology, PE, French and Drama lessons.

Subjects are often taught using a cross-curricular approach, especially where project based work is concerned so that pupils gain an awareness of how these subjects overlap. Pupils are assessed regularly and their progress carefully monitored and recorded throughout the Key Stage using standard National Curriculum levels.
Our junior pupils hugely enjoy the education they receive at Sherrardswood and we take equal pride in their achievements.
