June 2010

Friday 11th June

Year 6 spent a fun packed day in Boulogne last week and adorned with their berets, they looked the part!

Tuesday 8th June

Year 10 had a very interesting day at the University of Northampton.  The purpose of the day was to learn about university life, managing student finance and to explore the campus.

We were asked to draw stick man pictures of what we thought a student would look like, be called, their hobbies and what they would carry with them.   We then took a tour of the campus with our pictures, taking photographs of the ‘students’ at important places around the site. (Photos will be on the website when forwarded by Northampton).

Despite the rain, it was a good day that has encouraged us to think about going to university in the future.

May 2010

Year 8 pupils had a fantastic time in Normandy this year, the weather was excellent and a variety of activities made for an enjoyable week for staff and students.  Here are just a few pictures from the visit:

Crucial Crew

The whole of year 6 spent the morning of 20th May at the University of Hertfordshire attending  Crucial Crew, a scheme set up by Welwyn Hatfield Community Safety Partnership to make all 11 year olds aware of ways to stay safe in their everyday  lives.

Topics covered included : personal safety, stranger danger, fire safety, first aid, anti-social  behaviour, healthy lifestyles, railway safety and water safety.  The children learnt valuable lessons and came away armed with lots of information to share with their families.
