Congratulations Emma Kerr!!!

Emma Kerr, a Year 5 pupil and member of Welwyn Garden City Swim Club has reason to celebrate and congratulate herself on winning The Digswell Trophy.

 

The Trophy is awarded to the Under 10 Girls Champion for the most points achieved in all 4 strokes; breast stroke, backstroke, butterfly and front crawl.  We are delighted to say that Emma is the third Sherrardswood pupil to have won this trophy, previous winners are Sian Clements, our Peripatetic Drum Teacher and Isobel Manna.

ISA Swimming Competition—14th October
Congratulations to the following pupils who qualified to swim for North London at the ISA National Swimming Gala on Saturday 20th November.

WGC Cross Country—5th November
Well done to all pupils who took part in the event this year.  12 local Primary Schools took part and the Sherrardswood results are:

District Cross Country, Queenswood School—17th November
Pupils from Year 5 to Year 11 took part in the event, which saw a total of eight schools participating, and many congratulations to all our representatives.  We were delighted that Sherrardswood’s Year 5 and 6 pupils came fourth.  
 

 

Sport is an important part of the curriculum at Sherrardswood.  We are proud of all our pupils and take this opportunity to congratulate and pay special mention to those who are members of teams  and who represent the county outside school:

 

Mid-Herts District Athletics Tournament - 2nd July 2010

Megan Ralph, Year 10 - 3rd place 300 metres 

James Von Bülow, Year 7 - 2nd place Shot Putt

Lolu Adenaike, Year 8 - 3rd place High Jump


Molly Savident, Year 9, and Beren McGarry, Year 7, both swim for Hatfield Swim Club.  Beren recently came 10th in the region for freestyle, achieved the fastest time for the 200 metre backstroke in the county and won 3 gold medals and 2 silver medals with the 16th BagCats.


Sara Catt, Year 9, recently took 3rd place in the over 14's squash tournament and plays regularly for Gosling Junior Squash Club.


Millie King, Year 8, swims regularly for Potters Bar, Queenswood School and for North London.


Vicky Dathan, Year 9, plays goal defence for the Hertford Hornets netball team as well as for the county and her team came third at the recent Pontins Tournament.


Lolu Adenaike, Year 8, plays basketball for the Hertfordshire Warriors and the East England team.


Holly Crawford, Year 8, is a keen dancer and takes part in street dance with Street Dance Productions and ballet with Dance Design.  Recently, Holly has been involved in the Celtic Journey production in Stevenage and has danced twice with the English Youth Ballet.
