A Peppery Art Project

Year 7 have been working on a textile project starting with a still life drawing of half a pepper.  They then refined this, adding shade and coloured pencil, whilst looking carefully at shape, tone, depth and detail.  To understand the depth of vibrant colour peppers have, year 7 did a larger drawing of a pepper using oil pastels on black paper. They had to concentrate on blending strong colours whilst adding texture and detail and looking at shape and pattern. 


Next, year 7 traced the outline of their pepper drawing, on to fabric which they then coloured in using fabric crayons.  They have been learning about different stitches, such as cross stitch, chain stitch and French knots, which they will be using on their textile pepper over the next couple of weeks
