English Teacher

We are currently seeking to recruit enthusiastic and inspirational English teachers to work with our Senior students.  Our students thrive in an exceptionally positive learning environment and enjoy many opportunities to encourage their love of literature, theatre, poetry and media through theatre visits and performances as well as in the course of a fully planned and prepared curriculum.  Our class sizes are small meaning that teaching workload is more manageable and the behaviour and enthusiasm of our students make every lesson a pleasure.  Prospective candidates must demonstrate an evident passion for their subject.

Prep Learning Support Assistant

Contract type: Term-time, Monday to Friday, 8.30 am to 15.30 pm

Sherrardswood is an independent, co-educational school for children aged 2 to 18, based in 28 acres of beautiful woodland by the river Mimram.

We are looking to appoint an experienced Learning Support Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a happy and well-behaved child, with a range of educational needs. The successful candidate will be able to work flexibly under the direction of the SENCO and class teacher, and at times independently, adapting to the pupil’s learning needs. We are looking for an exceptional individual, ideally with experience of working with children with a range of additional needs.

Job Description.

The right person would have the following qualities:

  • enthusiastic and dynamic
  • has experience of working with individual children with SEND
  • has high expectations of achievement and behaviour
  • has good numeracy and literacy skills
  • can confidently communicate with parents
  • can work as part of a team
  • be able to use their own initiative and imagination
  • be passionate about working with SEND children
