Sherrardswood School Aims, Ethos and Individuality
We are a small, co-educational family school, where each child is genuinely valued as an individual. Small class sizes and high staff ratios means that we have time to get to know our students, their strengths, interests and abilities. Students and staff share respectful relationships and the atmosphere in school is one of warmth and positivity. Rewards and sanctions are clearly and fairly applied and our children are very happy in their school.
Our academic provision is highly personalised, providing support and extension as appropriate. We are an academically non-selective school, yet our results regularly surpass those of other, more selective schools in the area. We are extremely proud of our students’ academic achievements.
The growth of our children as individuals, ready to take their place in the community is equally important to us. We aim to foster a sense of responsibility, pride and honour in all of our students. Our pupils mature into confident and happy young adults as evidenced by the many and varied talents they demonstrate throughout the school day and also in their personal endeavours.
