Animal Art

In Art, we learnt how to draw realistic fur by using fine short strokes, changing to a softer or harder pencil and altering the amount of pressure we applied to the page. I chose to draw a dog because I thought he looked very sweet and also I have a dog at home and I wanted to learn how to draw him! I found drawing the eye especially difficult because of the awkward, overall shape and all the tiny details. I really enjoyed this lesson and think my finished sketch looks quite realistic! I’m pleased I’ve learnt how to do this and I’m really looking forward to trying the same technique with a different animal and comparing it to the dog I sketched.” Grace Year 6
