Admissions

Sherrardswood School's admission process is designed to be straight forward and accessible.

In the first instance, please phone Mrs Omer in the front office 01438 714 282, komer@sherrardswood.co.uk who will discuss your child with you and the reason for the enquiry.  Whether your child is just starting on their school adventure, or you are perhaps choosing us for secondary education, or if your child is unsettled in their current setting, we would love to hear from you.

After this initial chat, you will be invited for a tour of the school with either Mr Capuano, Head of Prep (Pre School to Year 6) or Mrs Wright, Headmistress (Seniors).  These tours take place during the school day and are an opportunity for you to see our busy school in action.  For Senior tours, we ask that the child attends to meet with Mrs Wright also as this is an important part of our selection process.  All students should attend in their current school uniform, if applicable.

Following this initial tour, if everyone, that is, parent, child and school, is in agreement that Sherrardswood could be a good fit for your child, then an interview (Senior) or trial day (Prep) will be arranged.  We aim to make applicable offers in a timely manner after this stage.

Most of our students join us in September, but we are open to in year transfers if there is a genuine need, providing spaces are available in the relevant year group.

We are pleased to receive applications from students that hold, or are applying for, an EHCP.  We consider each application in the context of the relevant cohort, the provision that the school can offer and the specific requirements of your child's Section F.  Please be aware that in the case of an EHCP, we may ask for more information from your child's current school, or arrange for one of our team to visit and observe your child in situ.  For more information, please contact Mrs Omer as above, or Mrs Fletcher, Director of SEND, jfletcher@sherrardswood.co.uk
