About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic educator who can confidently deliver A Level Philosophy and Law, with the flexibility to contribute to the wider Humanities curriculum when needed. Interest or experience in subjects such as Psychology, Sociology, or Childcare is highly advantageous, as student demand in these areas continues to grow.
As part of our vibrant and collaborative Humanities team, you will work with highly motivated Sixth Formers who thrive on challenge, debate, and academic curiosity.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging, rigorous lessons that spark deep thinking.
- Creating a cohesive learning journey that promotes intellectual growth and academic excellence.
- Setting meaningful homework and providing constructive, timely feedback.
- Using assessment effectively to shape future teaching and support student progress.
- Maintaining high expectations, a positive learning environment, and a culture of respect.
- Supporting form tutor responsibilities and contributing to the wider life of the Sixth Form.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues, including SEN and pastoral teams.
- Contributing to departmental development and the ongoing excellence of our Humanities provision.
ECTs are warmly welcomed; we value enthusiasm, reflective practice, and a willingness to grow.
About You
We are looking for someone who brings both expertise and inspiration. You will have:
- A relevant degree in Philosophy, Law, or a related Humanities discipline.
- QTS or equivalent teaching qualification ( desirable )
- Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for academic debate and critical thinking.
- The ability to teach A Level confidently and contribute to younger year groups when required.
- Excellent communication skills and a passion for inspiring Sixth Form learners.
- A commitment to high expectations, inclusive practice, and student wellbeing.
- The creativity, organisation, and resilience needed to thrive in a busy, dynamic department.
Experience in Psychology, Sociology, Childcare or other Humanities subjects is highly desirable.
