Results & Destinations

Every child achieves more than they thought possible

We are ambitious for every pupil at Sherrardswood — and the results show it. Because we are non-selective, we measure our success not just by raw grades but by the progress every child makes: how much further they go with us than they would have gone elsewhere. On that measure — the government's value-added data — our students are significantly above the national average, and ahead of other local independent schools. In other words, whatever a child's starting point, they achieve more here.

The progress our students make

A-Level value added: +0.26 (national average −0.03) — significantly above the national average, and ahead of other local independent schools.

BTEC value added: +0.30 (national average 0) — well above the national average, across our vocational pathways.

As a non-selective school with a small cohort, headline percentages never tell the full story. We are as proud of the student who earns the grades they need for their chosen college as we are of those securing 7s, 8s and 9s and staying with us into Sixth Form. Every one of them is a success.
