Every child achieves more than they thought possible

We are ambitious for every pupil at Sherrardswood. As a non-selective school, we are proud not only of the grades our students achieve, but of the progress they make from their individual starting points.

Through small classes, highly personalised teaching and close academic support, every student is known as an individual, encouraged to aim high and supported to achieve their best.

The progress our students make

In 2026, Sherrardswood students achieved an average Value Added score of +0.4 , meaning students achieved, on average, around 0.4 of a grade above prediction. This reflects the strong progress students make through Sherrardswood’s personalised approach to teaching, mentoring and individual support.

As a non-selective school with a small cohort, headline percentages never tell the full story. We are as proud of the student who earns the grades they need for their chosen college as we are of those securing 7s, 8s and 9s and staying with us into Sixth Form. Every one of them is a success.

Destination of Leavers

Students are progressing to an impressive range of leading and highly regarded universities across the UK. Six students are heading to Oxford Brookes University and four to the University of York, each having achieved the grades they needed to secure their places.

Other destinations include Durham University, King’s College London, UCL, the University of Bath, Loughborough University, the University of Exeter, the University of Nottingham, the University of Surrey and the University of Leicester, reflecting the breadth of ambitions and pathways supported through Sherrardswood Sixth Form.
