Sports

Throughout their time at Sherrardswood, we promote positive attitudes towards physical activity, laying the foundations for all students to be able to follow active and healthy lifestyles in the wider community.

The PE and games programme is designed to be fully inclusive. We want to provide opportunities for participation by students of all levels of age and ability, involving either competition within the school or with other schools. Students are offered a wide range of sports during PE and games lessons, with more choice being available as students progress through the school.

We have an extensive range of sports clubs, activities and teams with students representing the school in local and county competitions. Clubs include football, rugby, hockey, tennis, cricket, netball, basketball, dance and athletics for example. The purpose-built sports hall is central in the school and used extensively. This, combined with the expansive playing fields, tennis courts and our links with the surrounding, local sports clubs and associations, makes Sherrardswood the perfect platform to nurture sporting skills.
