Testimonials & Reports
Sometimes the best way to find out about a school is to read or hear what people outside the school have said.
ISI Regulatory Compliance Report 2018
Our most recent report is the Independent Schools Inspectorate's (ISI) Regulatory Compliance Inspection Report from November 2018, where we met all compliance standards. This means that Sherrardswood was judged against the Independent School Standards, and as you will read in the report, ISI have confirmed that we have met the required standards in all areas with no action points recommended. This is the best possible outcome for this type of inspection and the report can be downloaded below.

What our parents say
“You and your teachers are incredible. There are so many little things that happen on a daily basis that leave (my husband) and I utterly awestruck and delighted that our children are in such capable hands. It is the first time in their school careers that we have had the pleasure and relief of being able to completely trust the teachers in charge of their education both academically and pastorally. Both children have come so far since joining your school. They are truly happy, and we are so excited to see how they will progress as they carry on through the school. As a parent once said to me, when I was a teacher, “A happy child is a child who can learn” and I truly believe this to be the case at Sherrardswood.” (Current parent).
“I wanted to say a huge thank you for all the work you have done with my boy this year. He was so delighted with his award in assembly last Friday and I think you deserve one also for your effort with him, as you have managed to bring out the best in him this year. As well as his academic achievements, I can see how much his confidence and self-belief has improved which has been a result of how much he has enjoyed his time in your classroom.” (Current parent).
“I can’t thank you enough for the help and support given to my child since he started. My husband and I are so proud of how he’s changed over this last year, largely due to the patience, perseverance and nurturing of the team at Sherrardswood. For a child like him who went through a really rough patch and at times didn’t know how on earth he was going to move forward, to come out the other side and be given this award is a massive boost to his confidence and self-esteem. You really have created a uniquely special school and all the students are incredibly lucky.” (Current parent).
“I just wanted to write to you to congratulate everybody involved with last night’s gym and dance show, but especially Mrs Layton and the PE team who seem to have worked tirelessly. Our boys joined Sherrardswood in September, and so having sat through other shows at this and our previous school, I thought I knew what to expect, but I was so impressed, and more importantly enjoyed the whole thing.
"The acts were brilliantly put together, but the most impressive thing was the attitude of the children. Every single one looked to be trying their hardest, was excited and positive, knew what they were doing and was confident. Seeing boys tell each other to smile and lift their heads up, not sniggering and giving half-hearted performances and seeing my boys giving 110% to dance was amazing. It was a great reflection of the attitude of the pupils and in turn, therefore, the school, and embodies what we had hoped Sherrardswood would be. (New parent).
