Welcome to Sherrardswood Nursery, where children discover, learn, and play in a safe and nurturing environment.

Our Nursery offers a range of activities and classes designed to support children’s physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development. Experienced teachers work closely with each child, providing personalised attention and guidance as they grow and learn.

We have carefully designed each of our Nursery classes to be bright, welcoming, and child friendly with a range of play areas including a designated reading corner, arts and crafts station, kitchen area, and a sandpit. Using bright colours in spacious classrooms, these areas encourage children to explore, experiment, and play.

We take children from the age of 2, providing specific activities for the 2–3-year-olds (Hedgehogs) and 3–4-year-olds (Badgers).

Offering full and part-time places in Nursery, we offer a half day or full day option with flexible pick-up timings of either 1pm or 3:20pm, making the lives of our parents easier!

Although our Nursery is term time only, we appreciate the busy lives of our parents, thus running holiday camps throughout the year. We have one in the week at Christmas and Easter, and four weeks in August! These are run by our dedicated Nursery Manager and staff for our pupils aged 2 – 6 years old, ensuring that the children can see familiar faces in a comfortable environment.

All our Nursery pupils are guaranteed automatic entry into our Reception. We ensure a smooth transition into Reception through our welcoming and supportive environment, alongside a wide range of activities that are designed to stimulate children’s curiosity, creativity, and confidence. This is furthered through our combination of structured and child-led activities which help children develop their skills and knowledge at their own pace.
