Sherrardswood School is seeking a highly organised and reliable Assistant Examinations Officer to lead the administration and delivery of all internal and external examinations. This is a key role within the school, ensuring that examinations are conducted efficiently, securely and in full compliance with awarding body regulations.

Sherrardswood is an independent, co-educational school for pupils aged 2–18, set within 28 acres of beautiful woodland alongside the River Mimram in Welwyn, Hertfordshire. About the Role

Working Pattern: Full Time, Monday to Friday, Term Time

Work Times: 8:30 am to 4:30 pm

Salary: Based on experience

Start Date: Immediate Start Available

As an Assistant Examinations Officer, you will be responsible for the effective planning, administration and delivery of all examinations within the school, ensuring full compliance with awarding body and regulatory requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the full examination cycle, including entries, timetabling, invigilation and results processing
  • Liaising with examination boards to ensure all requirements and deadlines are met
  • Preparing and securely handling examination materials in line with regulations
  • Organising exam rooms, seating plans and invigilation arrangements
  • Supporting students during examination periods to ensure a calm and well-managed environment
  • Working closely with teaching staff and the SENCo to implement access arrangements
  • Managing post-results services, including enquiries about results and appeals
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with all examination regulations

This role requires a highly organised and methodical individual who can manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality at all times.
